Quicken Loans National and Paul Lawrie Matchplay

Two very average and frankly not particularly interesting events this week. The fields are weak and the markets offer little. Stuck in the middle of big events there are a couple of players worth an interest but not to get over excited with. Therefore there's no detailed write up. Most the big names are taking the week off so I think I will join them.

The most interesting item on the menu this week is the continuation of the Tiger Woods enigma. What will he do? Can he produce something average and give us all (perhaps more false) hope or will he disappoint and offer yet more awful, undetailed, repetitive and patronising reasoning? Either way it will be the most interesting ingredient of a very weak renewal of his event.

His event is played at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club In Virginia and I'm taking a chance on Will Wilcox at 50/1. He has played well in this part of the country and is in strong form. He is a very tidy player who hits a lot of greens. He is also strong around the greens so can keep himself in contention on an off day. I think in a 120 man field, where all but former President Cup players are debuting, 50/1 is fair.

In the Paul Lawrie Matchplay I will have an interest on Maximilian Kieffer who may prove tough to beat. He is very consistent and people will have to perform beat him, he doesn't give much away and won't often beat himself.

My advice comes with a point system to rate the strength of a tip. A 1 point bet means placing your usual stake, so if you would consider your normal bet being £10 then a point signifies £10.
