Golf Betting Tips

Scottish Open and John Deere Classic

On pay as you go internet in a stingy Venetian hotel so just the picks again this week.

Scottish Open

1.5 pts each way Phil Mickelson @ 33/1

Huge price about a player whose only weak stat is driving accuracy. He has played some in and out stuff this year and if he putts like he did at the start of the season he will win (still ranked 19th in putting). The course is wide from the tee and the poor forecast is my only real concern.

1 pt each way Alex Noren @ 66/1

Talented player who does well in tough conditions. Wider fairways will also fit his eye a little better.

John Deere Classic

1 pt each way Ben Crane @ 66/1

Stricker (on a four timer) and Zach Johnson look the most likely but are very short in a weak field. Ben Crane is a similar type of player at a decent price. The scoring always goes deep here and Crane ranks 8th in par breakers (4th in eagles and 13th in birdies)

2012 running total +146.73 points. This weeks investment 7 points

2011 total +370.78 points
2010 total +189.33 points

My advice comes with a point system to rate the strength of a tip. A 1 point bet means placing your usual stake, so if you would consider your normal bet being £10 then a point signifies £10.
