Golf Betting Tips

AT&T Pebble Beach, True Thailand Classic and RACV Ladies Masters

Brooks Koepka was in good shape last week with a hole to play in the second round. A birdie on the par 5 last would give him a share of the lead entering round 3. He hit the green in two before proceeding to five putt for a double bogey 7. He slipped to 22nd and was invisible the rest of the week. It felt a lot like watching a horse going well before hitting a flight hard halfway round. It seemed to knock the wind out of him and he lost all momentum.

This week there is nothing for me to get overly excited by. There is very little value on offer in the AT&T at Pebble Beach or the True Thailand Classic at Black Mountain.

In the AT&T I like Ryan Palmer at 28/1 and the obvious choices of Day 8/1 and Walker 8/1.

I am not going to have an outright bet in the event. If I were it would be Palmer who is hitting it long, making loads of birdies and looked incredibly focused and determined in Phoenix. However, form of mc-mc-dnp-29-mc-32 in the event is not overly encouraging.

It’s a similar story in Thailand. I like Emilliano Grillo at 28/1. However, he has no course form and seems a little bit of a risk.

The one outright bet I am going to take this week is in the Ladies European Tour event in Australia, the RACV Ladies Masters and the girl I am backing is a young Norwegian called Tonje Daffinrud. I was practicing with her last week in Spain and she is a hell of a player with an incredibly professional attitude and approach. She has so much ability, confidence and potential. As a pro she has played four tournaments and won three times. In her other start she had to finish 3rd or better to get a card on the Ladies European Tour and finished third. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

She is as big as 125/1 in a few places which shows she is very much under the radar still. As short as 66 in places. I have taken a little at 125/1 but one is limited in how much one can get on. As a result I can’t tip her 1 point each way at 125/1 as I don’t think you will get the bet, therefore I think 0.5 points each way @ 100/1 is a bet most can place so therefore is the recommendation.

My advice comes with a point system to rate the strength of a tip. A 1 point bet means placing your usual stake, so if you would consider your normal bet being £10 then a point signifies £10.
