Last week was close to a good one, basses were loaded on the Sunday with O' Hair in a share of the lead at 50/1, Kuchar 3rd at 66/1 and Jeff Overton 7th at 80/1. We looked odds on to get a winner but ended up only getting the well fancied O' Hair in the places. Still a 16 point profit which takes us up to 106.7pt profit for the season. If you have had £10 per point this year you would be up £1067, good.

I am buzzed about this week. I played Whistling Straits earlier this year and since then I have been looking forward to seeing the worlds best take on the best course I have ever played. The course is an epic, beautiful adventure. 18 world class Pete Dye golf holes set in an idilic location overlooking Lake Michigan. Should be a great Major.

The course is a ball strikers course, long with a big reward on accuracy, but still scoreable in the right conditions and whenever a course is scorable you have to look to good putters. Good putters will come to the fore if the weather is good, but it can get windy here by the lake. the forecast is for possible rain on Friday and Saturday and maybe some wind coming after the rain for Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Local Wisconsinite Steve Stricker is my first pick. He is 4th in the world and is coming off a 9th at Firestone last week where he lead the field in greens in regulation. He is 24th in fairways hit and 6th in putting. He is also 7th in all round ranking, and with Westwood missing through injury, is my main fancy this week. With Woods just shocking last week, Mickelson not a lot better and Westwood missing one could argue he is the best ranked player in this field on points and form. Take the 25/1.

Matt Kuchar remains the most consistent player in the world and for reason mentioned every single week on this page he has to get the nod again. 55/1 is a bit short, but all the prices are compressed as the 2 favorites Woods and Mickelson are drifting so badly due to their lack of form.

Speaking of Woods, 18/1 to win a Major is a price that one could only dream of in anyone of the last 13 years, he deserves to be this price, he is so far away mentally and physically right now it is scary, but if anyone can turn their games around quickly Woods is your man, but this is a big ask, I am going to leave him alone this week. I also want to include Jeff Overton, he is a real form player and the course sets up well for him but I do not trust him in bad weather and with his price just 50/1 he is not worth the risk.

I think Peter Hanson is overpriced in the Top European market, 33/1 about player who has proven form in the States is too big. He finished just outside the top 10 in the US Open and 8th last week at Firestone. Without Lee Westwood I do not really have another European fancy and he has a solid long game.

Finally, a big price value bet, take the 400/1 about the talented youngster Seung-Yul Noh. He has a ridiculous amount of ability and can give us a genuine run at a huge price.
